This sample Plugs Electronics Dashboard provides high and low level views into an example retail company’s trending sales.
This dashboard is for executive or management level individuals who want to see an overview of current year-to-date sales and how that compares to the prior year’s sales. Viewers can also drill into how different product categories are trending all the way down to row level order details.
This dashboard is built on example data provided by the Snowflake Data Cloud. Plugs Eletronic is a sample retail company selling a wide variety of electronics related products. The data contains high level groupings such as product categories and low level information such as product skus. New sales are added daily so users can experience the speed and efficiency provided by Snowflake.
Apply Filters: Users can apply filters to the entire dashboard and dataset powered by the dropdown selections at the top of the page. This can be Product Type, Product Family, or date filters.
Drill-Down Functionality: There are three different types of drill-down functionality provided.
1) Users can right click on any data point and either add a column to drill into (for example right click on a bar chart and drill into Region) or show underlying data (for example, order ID level data)
2) In the Product Drill Down selector, users can see how a lower level rolls up to a higher level. When a user selects to drill into a Product Family, they see what Product Type that Product Family comes from.
3) The last option is the Pivot Table functionality. The pivot table allows users to click to expand into different items such as the months for each year or the Product Types sales within a Region.
