About the BPTW List
This list, now in its 23rd year, highlights an elite group of businesses that offer an exceptional work environment according to their personnel via a survey. Once a company applies for the award and meets the entry criteria, a survey is sent out on behalf of the Minneapolis-St.Paul Business Journal to employees. The survey is meant to gauge employee feedback of their company based on culture, communication, efforts, leadership, benefits, and more. Once the survey results are in, BPTW determines honorees and later announces winners.

There’s no such thing as a perfect company, and we’re far from perfect. However, we are completely invested in making phData one of the best places to work. Through feedback, surveys, and straight-up listening to our team, we’re always looking for ways to improve.
We take our values pretty seriously around here. Our leadership team spent countless hours developing four core values to live and lead the company by. After careful consideration, and feedback from the entire organization, our core values are Psychological Safety, Curiosity, Grit, and Community.
We’re officially a remote-first organization. While we do have a truly spectacular office space in Minneapolis and Bangalore, all employees are welcome to work from home as much or as little as they like. Here’s phData’s official statement on remote-first from COO, Mike Clevland:
“Remote-first means we will allow all current and future phData employees to work remotely (both within the US and India) permanently, but we will continue to maintain our offices in Minneapolis and Bangalore.”
