phData named as a “2021 Best Places to Work” by The Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal

By Mitch Rudolph

The Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal has announced that phData has been named as a 2021 Best Places to Work. This marks the fifth consecutive time phData has been honored to make this prestigious list and we’re absolutely thrilled about it.

Since our inception in 2014, we’ve made it our mission to foster a values-driven culture that thrives on solving complex problems while continuously learning and having fun along the way. Making this list is another friendly reminder of the strong reputation phData has built over the years of attracting and retaining top-tier talent.

Wondering how companies are nominated and then added to the list?

About the BPTW List

This list, now in its 23rd year, highlights an elite group of businesses that offer an exceptional work environment according to their personnel via a survey. Once a company applies for the award and meets the entry criteria, a survey is sent out on behalf of the Minneapolis-St.Paul Business Journal to employees. The survey is meant to gauge employee feedback of their company based on culture, communication, efforts, leadership, benefits, and more. Once the survey results are in, BPTW determines honorees and later announces winners.

What it’s Really Like Working at phData

Working at phData has several benefits, perks, rewards, and its fair share of challenges. The feedback collected below is derived from several sources including job sites, our career page, and first-hand employee experience.

The Great

phData embraces its core values and offers a thriving culture for employees to do meaningful work, advance their careers, and have fun daily.

The Even Better

It’s hard to sum up all of the excellent qualities with phData in just one sentence but here’s our shot:

phData offers a supportive (and highly collaborative) work environment where employees are genuinely empowered to do their career’s best work — all while making a noticeable difference for how our clients derive value from their data.

The Needs Improvement

There’s no such thing as a perfect company, and we’re far from perfect. However, we are completely invested in making phData one of the best places to work. Through feedback, surveys, and straight-up listening to our team, we’re always looking for ways to improve.

Our Values

We take our values pretty seriously around here. Our leadership team spent countless hours developing four core values to live and lead the company by. After careful consideration, and feedback from the entire organization, our core values are Psychological Safety, Curiosity, Grit, and Community.

We’re officially a remote-first organization. While we do have a truly spectacular office space in Minneapolis and Bangalore, all employees are welcome to work from home as much or as little as they like. Here’s phData’s official statement on remote-first from COO, Mike Clevland:

“Remote-first means we will allow all current and future phData employees to work remotely (both within the US and India) permanently, but we will continue to maintain our offices in Minneapolis and Bangalore.”
