A major door and window manufacturer wanted to create an automated data process for their marketing team, designed to replace the existing Excel spreadsheet that had been acting as the single source of truth for various ad data providers. The manual process of maintaining this spreadsheet wasn’t scalable with the new marketing campaigns they had planned for February 2022.
Leaning on Fivetran and our own Project Administration onboarding tool, phData set the client up with their new Snowflake environment. We provided an automated solution with consistent data quality to enable quick data analysis for business insights for the marketing team. We migrated the marketing data from an Excel spreadsheet into Snowflake to enable expansion and ease of use.
With new, large-scale marketing campaigns planned for 2022, the client needed an automated way to bring data in from their host of ad delivery and data providers. Previously, the marketing team had relied on a single Excel spreadsheet as their source of truth to assess campaign performance and make marketing decisions. The manual process of using this spreadsheet couldn’t scale with the new campaigns they had planned for the year.
Leadership at the manufacturer had worked with phData in the past, when working with a previous employer. With their needs already in mind, they turned to a trusted partner to help roll out the new data platform. phData’s engagement began with a data strategy review, which then led to several business use cases to migrate and build data products on Snowflake.
This project simply introduced more observability and repeatability into our machine learning workflows as we worked to equip the customer.

We migrated the marketing data from an Excel spreadsheet into Snowflake to enable expansion and ease of use. Some data providers had Fivetran connectors (including Salesforce, Facebook, Google Ads, and Adroll), while others didn’t. Source systems without Fivetran connectors were semi-automated; a file is pushed into SharePoint, then automatically uploaded into Snowflake via SharePoint Fivetran connector.
We completed the implementation of the marketing data in Snowflake by January 2022, ahead of their campaign launches in February 2022.
phData completed the migration to Snowflake on time and within budget — all within four short weeks. This enabled the manufacturing client to expand their marketing campaigns on schedule.
In addition to migration, phData completed data validation in partnership with the client’s team to ensure accuracy and provided training sessions to give the client’s marketing teams the ability to self-serve their data needs. Finally, we provided a cutover plan. This allowed the client to use both systems in parallel until ready to release the old process.
