Today’s flight tracker apps give travelers real-time updates on essential flight details, such as weather conditions, delays, departure and arrival times, and origin and destination information. Building on these capabilities, our Flight Tracker App and Itinerary Service Sigma dashboard empower users to make smarter travel decisions that save time and money.
Our Flight Tracker App and Itinerary Service Sigma dashboard provide comprehensive details about individual flights, analyze historical flight data, recommend the best available flights, and allow users to create personalized flight itineraries.
By presenting critical and timely flight information, applications like this enable travelers to better plan their trips and proactively prepare for or avoid potential travel disruptions.
This dataset was generated by integrating three different tables located in Snowflake’s Sigma Sample Databases. The three data sources used are an Airport table, containing geo information such as Latitude and Longitude and 629 unique codes, an Airline table with complete names and 14 unique codes, and a Flights table with historical information on thousands of flights.
By connecting the data sources, you will have a tool to analyze all aspects of historical flights and provide personalized recommendations when traveling across the US.
This dashboard is intended for any traveler planning a trip within the US and seeking insights into historical flight information to overcome issues like bad weather conditions or delays.
Additionally, Online Travel Agency companies can use the report feature to offer travelers an improved way to avoid potential issues during their trip and to book the best flight options between destinations.
This dashboard has two pages: the Main one, which shows all the historical information about a selected booking code, and the Itinerary one, which creates a personalized trip based on several attributes selected by the traveler.
On the Main page, there is a Booking code filter that is connected to the dataset of that page and modifies all the charts.
On the Itinerary page, the traveler can change and customize 12 filters, such as the date of flight, origin and destination States, and time of departure and arrival.
On the Main page, there are two buttons with internal actions. The first button is in the
Best Flight Recommendation section that allows the traveler to save the flight recommendation by adding personal information such as the date of flight, name, birth date, and purpose of the trip. After clicking the button, a PDF with all the flight information can be downloaded.
The second button is at the end of the page. It will redirect the traveler to the Itinerary page to plan the personalized trip.
On both pages, there is a map chart that shows the origin and destination points across the US map in a visual way.
This is a high-level view of current performance, with run rate calculations to show what level of future performance is needed to hit service goals.
This dashboard section, located on the Itinerary page, allows the traveler to select any of the 54 US States as an Origin and Destination location. Based on internal logic, the departure and arrival times will come from all the historical flights once made between those two points. At the end of the page, the traveler will see a map of the three points selected.
This dashboard provides analytics that can give travel agencies an advantage over competitors. It improves the traveler’s experience by providing a background of information that reduces the potential issues that travelers face every time they book a flight and replaces stress with peace of mind because of better trip coordination.
