dbt Enablement + AIAD

It is a one- or two-day hands-on workshop from phData for data teams ready to move beyond basic dbt transformations. Day one builds a complete, production-grade dbt pipeline. Day two, the optional AI-assisted development (AIAD) add-on, puts AI to work on top of that pipeline with MCP, dbt Copilot, and agentic CI/CD.

AI-assisted development (AIAD) is the discipline of using AI to assist with software and data engineering work, from chat and code completion to agents that complete multi-step tasks, an approach known as agentic data engineering when applied to data pipelines. In this workshop, day two applies AIAD to your dbt pipeline with dbt Copilot, MCP with Claude Code, AI-driven code review, platform agents, and agentic CI/CD.

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard, introduced by Anthropic, that lets AI applications connect to external tools and data sources. In the workshop, attendees use MCP with Claude Code for local engineering assistance. phData is an Anthropic Preferred Partner.

dbt Copilot is an AI assistant from dbt that helps generate documentation and transformation logic. The workshop shows how to use it to automate documentation and transformation work.

Day one covers project setup, environments, and Git workflows connected to Snowflake. It also covers model building with sources, seeds, snapshots, and incremental materializations, Jinja templating and custom macros, and automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and Slim CI for production deployments.

The workshop is for analytics engineers, data engineers, warehouse administrators, and data and analytics leaders evaluating AI-augmented data engineering.
