Participants will walk away with practical migration tools, new skills for cloud data transformation, and a proven framework to confidently begin their own SQL Server to Snowflake journey.
This workshop is ideal for
who are seeking modern cloud analytics, faster performance, and scalable data solutions with minimal vendor sprawl.
It is a 90-minute hands-on workshop from phData that shows how to migrate SQL Server workloads to Snowflake on a Snowflake-native stack. The session covers migration challenges, data transfer with Openflow, code translation with SnowConvert AI, and testing and validation. Attendees leave with a proven migration framework and a roadmap of next steps.
SnowConvert AI is a Snowflake tool that translates database code from source platforms, such as SQL Server, into Snowflake-compatible code. The workshop covers data translation with SnowConvert AI in a 15-minute segment.
Openflow is Snowflake’s data integration service for moving data from external sources into Snowflake. The workshop includes a 30-minute demo of transferring data from SQL Server with Openflow, including change data capture (CDC), which keeps Snowflake in sync with changes in the source database.
A SQL Server to Snowflake migration moves your data, translates your database code, and validates the results. The workshop walks through that sequence: key migration challenges and solutions, data transfer with Openflow, code translation with SnowConvert AI, and testing and validation considerations.
The workshop is one 90-minute session, delivered in person or virtually. It includes 15 minutes on migration challenges and solutions, 30 minutes on the Openflow data transfer demo, 15 minutes on SnowConvert AI translation, 15 minutes on testing and validation, and 15 minutes of Q&A.
The workshop is built for data engineers, data architects, analytics managers, and IT decision-makers. It fits teams that want modern cloud analytics, faster performance, and scalable data solutions with minimal vendor sprawl.
